Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night starving? What is your favorite way to settle those hunger pains? Personally, I like to eat toast with peanut butter or dry cereal like Cheerios, both are fast and I can get back to bed quickly.

That "night" eating is usually a very specific "calling." You have to go with it. You can't fight it. You don't just look blankly into the fridge. You know what you went out there for. It's different for me all the time. Sometimes a bowl of cereal. Sometimes fried eggs. Sometimes a little bit more of whatever we had for dinner that I felt I didn't get enough of (or was afraid someone else would finish off the next day before I got some more.) Sometimes, if it's a dessert craving for something we don't have, I've even been known to bake it during the middle of the night. Now that's sick!

I usually just wake up with extreme hunger, so bad that it hurts, even if I ate supper. Of course, this might have something to do with the fact that I am 7 months pregnant, lol. On occasions that I actually have a specific craving, I'll do my level best to get that food, otherwise, I just try to fill the void enough to get back to sleep.

When I wake up hungry I like to eat a grilled cheese with bacon or heat up a bowl of soup. Having something warm helps me sleep better.I like to have a cup of tea with it.

Don't you find you wake up too much if you have to cook something?

I never eat in the middle of the night. If I do wake up feeling a little hungry, I drink some water which helps until I can get back to sleep.

What I prefer is a banana with a spoon of peanut butter. If I have no bananas on hand, I put about a tablespoon of peanut butter onto a slice of bread....fold and eat. I have been known to grab dry cereal as you describe too. Anything I can grab quickly and eat and get back to bed before waking up!
