Where do you buy to resell on ebay?

I try to find deals in stores to resell on ebay. But it's so hard and so random, it's not a steady income. I buy quite a bit of Gymboree (kids clothes) to resell but that is such a competitive market. And again, I only find it in stores and try to get good deals in order to make a profit. Does anyone have any secrets they're willing to share on where to buy, who to buy from, in order to turn a steady profit on ebay? I'm a stay-at-home mom who would love to make a few hundred a week doing this. Thank you in advance!

I dont mind sharing. I go to yard sales look and make nothing is wrong with the item that im interested in. Than i ask them if they will take less. where i do go is at auctions where they have box lots. I look thru all the boxes to see what in them. Tehy put all the good stuff on the bottom. I bought a box lot when thru it i paid $2 at a aucton for it. Put a ot of it on ebay and made $125 from the one box. Nice profit wouldnt you say..

That's awesome, how do you find the auctions to buy a box lot for a few bucks? I would love to do that!! I'm in San diego, if that helps any. And yes, I do buy some things at yard sales, but it seems like a lot of work to only get a few items to sell. Thank you so much for your response and I look forward to hearing more.

first, im a stay at home mom too, and i have been an ebay seller for almost 7 years....what i can tell you from experience is...sell whats hot... here are 2 examples... i had purchased a LOT of cellphone covers (from ebay) for $75 (incl shpg). I had one particular cover in that lot, that i knew would make me some money, the rest would add up in time. I scheduled that auction to end one hour after the X-Files series finale. It was, of course, an X-Files cover. Guess how much that bad-boy went for? It was a bidding war til the end, and it went for $97.56 (FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC) That one cell phone cover paid for the entire lot, the rest as i sold them was for profit. When the Spongebob movie came out, I was at my local store, and found NUMEROUS items on clearance that had Spongebob characters on it. Paid minimal money for them (no more than $2 per item) and listed for $.99, sold for nearly $10 each. sounds like only a little bit, but they add up. sell whats hot, if the carebears are comin out with a movie, watch the toy stores for sales on carebear items, you'll make a killing. I did that with Monsters Inc. Bought a Boo doll, sold it for 4x what i paid for it. always remember, someone out there does NOT have access to what you have, ALWAYS, and they will buy it. Good luck and happy eBaying. =)
