Is jealousy helpful in a relationship or not?

My boyfriend and I are going 2 years months from now. We've known each other since high school and we're good friends till we became lovers. I used to talk with him about guys who involved in my life in the past. I thought it would be beneficial coz i thought he would not get jealous coz i already told the truth. But exactly the opposite happens now. My past keeps on coming back unto my life coz he keeps on digging the issues about them that I had buried years ago. He gets jealous when the guys from my past e-mails me, texts me, or when I saw them downtown. He even gets jealous when a guy talks to me. I love him so much but I'm fed up with his jealousy. I don't want to lose him just because of his jealousy. I don't know if jealousy really helps a relationship.

it doesn't really help no. I was a bit jealous of my hubby in the beginning and it made him edgy lol..Now i make jokes with him and our relationship has got so much healthier and better and he pays me loads of attention now that i play it cool. I am terribly affectionate but i don't show a jealous side any more and i fel so much better for it. Try to be patient and give him the attention he is obviously craving for lol. well said friend yanjiaren.. Maybe the guy is just unsatisfied of the best attention he craves for.. Just focus on him and let him feel that there in no reason for him to get jealous.. Sometimes jealousi said to be healthy. In it, you would know if the person reallt loves and catch your attention. But what is most over is also bad.. If he is always jealous on the wrong person and situation, maybe that is not healthy.. try to work it out.. Best wishes freakyjoy.. Congrats to your first post.. Enjoy mylot.. thx for that warm welcome guys! well, if you are talking about the load of attention that i give him, u wont believe that im spending every minute of my spare time with him... we eat together, walk with each other, play games, talk sweet and even nasty things... but thru that talking when my tongue slips or mentions a guy's name, all i wud wanna say is "here we go again"... u see, almost every day we're having confrontion about the other things he discover about me and my past.. i would probably admit that it's partly my fault sending message to my past "fling" but past is past... no more feelings... that's what he wont believe, he always thinks that i still have a feeling for that guy.. u know... hhhaaayyyzzzz.. im tired of convincing him that he's the only man in my life... i love him but he wont believe me now... he feels that i love him but he wont believe me when im uttering it... cant understand him... just wanna sob.. im tired...

lol.. he's not insane... hahaha.. he's just really a type of person that is jealous... i wanna work it out with him... i hope everything should get into its proper place again.. i dont wanna lose this relationship just because of his jealousy... it should not meddle our happiness.. am i right? lolz... thanks for the response, by the way...

It feels flattering if your boyfriend gets jealous but there should be limitations. I myself am a jealous girlfriend but I only get jealous if there's really a need to be jealous..I mean, if your boyfriend gets jealous of people he shouldn't be jealous of, then that sucks..Have you tried talking to him about it? Explain to him that the fact that you've been honest with him about every one in your past just means that there's nothing to get jealous or worried about. Right now I have a very possessive and overly jealous boyfriend and I talked to him about it..He's trying to set aside his jealousy...One more thing, if your boyfriend is always jealous, that just means that he's insecure or he doesn't trust you...I hope when you talk to him, you guys would be able to work it out. Thx for the that helpful response.. Yeah.. I've talked to him about that. I tried my best to convince him that there's nothing to be jealous of but sometimes he won't listen to me. Well, i guess, only time and experiences will tell him that he should not be jealous..
