Did Susan give up too quickly on Mike?

How long would you have waited for a guy in a coma? I think 6 months wasn't very long for her to start looking for someone else!

Well you also have to remember that their relationship was not exactly stable to begin with. I mean they had problems, weren't quite commited to each other. And it's not like they were married, so I think these are things you have to take into consideration,.

Generally, if someone does not wake up from a coma within 3 weeks their chances of ever waking up are VERY slim. Depending on how much you loved the person depends on how long you would wait. I read about a woman in Mexico who slipped into a coma during childbirth. She woke up 16 years later with her husband and family by her side.

She would have been doting on Mike still, if not for Edie and the fact that Mike didn't want her.. The possibility of him waking up was slim, so I dont think she was wrong for dating Ian. Besides they were not really dating when he had the accident.

I think she could have waited longer....however me and dh have an agreement to pull the plug if chances are that dim, neither of us would want to be in that situation and put the other through that for a long period of time, so I doubt I would wait that long---but it would be quite longer before I would consider looking for someone else, but then I'm married and have children with my husband, whereas Susan and Mike weren't married or anything. So I don't blame her for getting together with Ian, and I think he is a good match for her.

I don't think she waited long enough, but she is very clingy and thinks she "needs" a man. I thinks it disgusting that her daughter is more mature than her, and that she leans so heavily on her daughter.
