It's been said elsewhere several times and in different ways, people will do whatever is most nessecary at any given moment or time to survive and take care of them and thiers. This statement shines a light on the fact we still have all the instinct of the lion and the antelope. people are for the most part three meals away from becoming the scary guy in the dark alley with the blunt object waiting to bash open the head of the next person they see to take anything they can to help them survive the next 24 hours or longer. But this also speaks to courage, my favourite quote about courage is this "a medal for bravery means three things 1) you were smart enough to think of a plan 2) stupid enough to try it and 3) lucky enough to survive it". If what is nessecary to survive best in a situation is to run then you will in all likely hood run for cover. If the best option happens to be fighting you'll likely wind up dong that. We can train ourselves to lean one way or another but everyone has a situation a thing that when they come up against will cause them to flee or run around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

We have lots and lots in common with the animal kingdom, it's quite shocking just how it can be difficult to tell us apart at times! Not proud of that deduction at all. lol. Your statement re courage is fabulous as it relates to life in general and not just to the fields of war. Life being a battle itself to most the notion of taking one of our brilliant ideas being your No. 1, being game enough to manifest said idea being No. 2 and being steady enough to follow it through being your No. 3 is what can make a persons life fulfilling. Yet most will not go past No. 1. Which leaves for a very unhappy life. Lots of headless chickens running amok in the world. Nice thread.

Do you have any idea how true your words are? Imagine being a father and losing so much do to the lie of an oficial who is sworn to tell the truth and is a liar and not only lied against you to gain a conviction but was also reprimanded for lying in another case.
