There are lots of good and worthwhile topics here at MyLot. But due to the increasing number of users and the so many topics being posted (including the non-sensible ones), most of the good topics remained unnoticed. Aside from creating the same discussion, do you have any suggestions on how to revive your topic? I think this is also one way to avoid repeating discussions. =)

If a "friend" does a bump for you by responding to your discussion, your discussion gets bumped to the very first one on your profile page. If you get enough of these bumps, yours will of course become a hot topic. So the trick would be to get many many friends... especially those who bother to set notify to auto and those who will respond to your discussion.

Joby, thanks a ton for raising this point in your discussion.I'm sure every member here wonders about this at some point or the other. This thought comes to my mind very often, especially when i see that many brilliant topics go unnoticed and its a real shame. Its high time Mylot admin did something about it.

i agree. as a member, i think i'll be more motivated when i see responses from my topics. though i know, with the number of members mylot has, its quite difficult to solve this dilemma. but i still think its possible. i'm not an expert on technical stuff but i think there's a better way. what i do right now is i try to add comments for every response i receive. but doing such, i can position my topic on the recent discussion part. but often times, i still end up racing with the other discussions. =(

I tried posting a topic on helping your friends out and getting the same in return in getting them started, with at least one response, and i don't think it did any good, i guess most people are bound to get a lot of discussions with 0 responses with this rate of people and what not... Also, i'm the kind of person that posts what's on my mind, and usually that turns into a long discussion, which a lot of people don't want to sit through and read as i have noticed... so i have to work on making shorter discussions, and i'm hoping that someone can make a system to scan through the 0 responses of eachother, respond, and help eachother out, I love helping people out too, so if that's something anyone wants to do, i'm game for it, leave me a message!!!

Hi joby! I have a few 0 response discussions as well - don't be discouraged though. Sometimes it just happens. Just keep starting new fresh discussions of interest and hopefully people will start to notice you and in turn they will look at your discussions and bump them with a response later. The only way I know how to bump a response is if someone responds to it or if you respond to someone who answered in the first place. If you have 0 responses, then it will just sit until someone answers it. You had added me as a friend and I try really hard to go through my friends list and answer as many discussions as I can each month so hopefully I will answer any of yours that have 0 responses so that it goes to the top of your profile page. But I'm only 1 person so hopefully ALL of your friends do this. Sorry I wish I had more advice or help to offer you. I'm glad we're friends though! :] Have a good day!
