Are your messages stored in sim or in mobile phone memory? If stored in sim do the following: 1) Using your old sim, insert it in your newly purchased mobile. 2) Turn on your phone , go to message, look where you can find the "message setting", then change the stored location "from sim to phone memory". This will vary depending of the brand and mobile of your phone but irregardless of their model all mobile have a message setting wherein you can find where your message will be stored. You now can keep the treasured, and sentimental message that you dont want to let go. 3) you will be then prompted to copy the sim message to phone etc etc.. If stored in phone memory: 1) If your mobile is a 2nd generation phone i believe it is compatible with the 3rd party software that allows you to back up your phone detail to your memory.. this is the easiest and most practical way.. 2)If your phone is one of the early models, the soution is to send the message via text.. or other means.. (?? but why send it, i think you are much concern on the "from" and the text if you will send via mobile then the sentimental value of that precious message will be gone forever). good luck.

If your old phone is one of the Latest Nokia brands and your new phone is also a Nokia brand. You could download lifeblog for PC and Lifeblog for Mobile. Using Lifeblog, you could download all your messages to the computer and later on upload it to your new phone. You could also use Oxygen Phone Manager, I think this software has an option to save and backup your messages to the computer. But this software is not free, you need to buy it.

Well, you could go to an electonics store and get a SD card meant for phones an computer use. If this sounds confusing it is. There is an SD memory card that has a very small SD card for cell phones. Now, you may have to go to your carrier to get it, depending on phone. I got mine at Radio Shack. Or there is a USB port on your phone that you can connect to the internet. You could also forward the messages to your new phone.

what is your phone model? here are the options available for you: 1. send the messages to your new cell via bluetooth, infrared. 2. send the messages to your new cell via normal sms, which will cost a lot. 3. connect a usb cable to your cellphone to a pc, this way you will save all the messages in your pc fast and easy.

as the other answer says, the easiest way i think is to make a full bakcup on your pc, but it will depend on the brand of your cellphone, and the softwasre available
