Telezapper for annoying Telemarketing Calls

I know the Federal Do Not Call list alleviated many of these calls, but I still know people that receive unwanted telemarketing calls. I used the Telezapper for awhile with much success. What it does is emit tones similar to those you hear when you call a number that has been disconnected, so the computer which is making the automated calls is tricked into thinking your number is no longer valid and removes your number from the list. Pretty cool, huh? I just let a friend borrow it for awhile. She just gave it back to me this morning and now I will let another friend borrow it. She receives at least one telemarketing call per hour, it's crazy!

I don't know what a telezapper is but I signed up for two "do not call list" websites. After awhile, we get very rarely telemarketing phone calls. So they obviously worked lol "Do Not Call List" sites: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx http://www.ftc.gov/donotcall/

Yes, my phone numbers are on the Federal Do Not Call list as well. The only thing I hate is that people can still call if they ask you to participate in a survey. That's not right.

This is indeed a good way to get these people off our phone lines. Even better since it is normally machines. I fortunately don't get those and anyway they would only get voicemail since I am dial up and I love my delete button. Thanks for sharing this one since I am sure if your friend had that problem still, someone else has too.
