I have two cats and have had cats all my life but have never contracted it. I was hghly concerned when I was pregnant with my children, as an infection in human mthers can cause birth defects in fetuses. Do you know about this and that it can be contacted by coming into contact with cat feces (cleaning out the litter box).

no i wasn't afraid at all! the cats all go outside to do what they have to do! with the first one we had a smal cat so we needed a litterbox, and i cleaned it myself with special gloves! and i have two healthy kids!

No, I don't and I have way more than 2 cats. That's because my cats don't go outside and get into the things that cause it. If you are pregnant and MUST handle the cat box, wear gloves and a dust mask, then wash well after. Every friend of mine that had cats while pregnant, their spouse did the cat boxes.
