How old do cats live?

Guiness looks strong and healthy- He's adorable. Looks like he's on a hunting mission in this picture! I have heard of cats living into their 20's. My neighbor had one that lived until he was 26 years old. I think that overall indoor cats live longer because they are not exposed to other animals and fighting, and there is no risk of them getting killed by being hit by a care. If your cat goes outdoors, watch him closely so that he doesn't get into fights; as he gets older he'll obviously be less able to protect himself. It sounds as if your cat is very healthy and active yet, so I would plan on him being around until he's at least 20! As long as he's happy and not suffering, and has a loving home, you will hopefully enjoy and love him for years.

The oldest cat that I ever had lived through 14. I think they live longer like around 18 it just depends on the health.

Like people cats can live different lengths of time. Some have been known to be in their 20's. Depends on their genetics and how well you take care of them. In your case you do not know how well that your feline friend was cared for. Enjoy him while you can and make the memories and take pictures. You will be glad you did. He's one cool dude.

i think your cat is very cute, my cat is 12 i got him from a rescue centre and he is very active. my last cat lived til she was 18.

I think your cat is awesome. There may be exceptions that cat live more than 20 years but generally average lifespan of cats are 15-16 years. Like human being also have exceptions few of them live 100 years or more. wishing long life for your cat....
