Here It Is... My Poem Referring to The Full Lunar Eclipse Tonight... Blood Moon!

Blood Moon March third, two thousand seven, the day for this event, Most part, the afternoon on computer quietly spent, Checking on the times that the moon would change its glow From silver into darkened bronze; spectacular, I know. Waiting, anticipating the wondrous heavenly sight, I have to go and stand out in the garden late tonight, Nine thirty is the time that the darkening will begin, To miss this magickal display would surely be a sin. A black cloud worked its way from the bottom to the crown, Until ‘twas just a darkened sphere with golden circle round, Then suddenly, the moon turned dark, a deep grey silent orb Which turned to bronze with patches grey, a wonder to absorb. Binoculars revealed a brown sphere with a bluish crest, Then gradually, the bronze appeared; oh wow, that was the best, A Blood Moon was above me like deep red, setting sun, The stars began to twinkle so much brighter, every one. Then gradually a golden light which bounced off eastern side, Crescented the orange, in awe I stood and sighed, I made a wish, not once but thrice, in magick golden light, I think I entered Moon Mystique whilst standing there tonight. The golden crescent growing now, as Moon regained its light, A pleasure to behold was this golden, glowing sight, Then gradually and silently, silver light returned again But in my mind forever more, the Blood Moon will remain. Copyright© by Darkwing An awesome experience, which was difficult to put into words, but please leave me your comments on what you think about this poem?

Darkwing this was the most visually-inducing piece of artistic expression using rhyme and imagination, I have ever read. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the event for clouds of thick debris bade my eyes to never see the moon do its dance behind the sun. No darkened anything just vast opacity to keep me from this cosmic fantasy. Thank you . . . you made it real.

Wow... thank you for such a wonderfully encouraging comment about my poem. Your use of words is such that I feel you may be a poet yourself... would I be right? I'm glad I made it real for you but am so sorry that you couldn't see it as it happened, for that's the most awe inspiring thing I ever saw in my life. I'll see the Moon in a different light now, although I've always loved it. Thank you again, and Brightest Blessings.

The Poem is lovely Darkwing and I am glad you managed to see it. It was to cold for me to go out so I did not see it. But I do love the Poem.

It did get a bit cold Gabs. I only stayed until just after midnight... it was damp cold and my feet were like blocks of ice by that time! lol. My neighbour stayed out with me until about 11.15, then she'd had enough and went in to warm up! lol. I couldn't leave, it was weird, a sort of magnetic attraction. I'm glad I didn't miss it though... wish you'd seen it. Thanks for the compliment on the poem and brightest blessings. I published it EVERYwhere. lol. Luv ya! xox

A poem by Darkwing is such a treat, With words so thoughtfull and very neat. A moon in splendour that has been seen, By Darkwings eyes from where she’s been.
