Hi, the cat is out of the bag. Vengsarkar has openly revealed to the press that it was on Dravid's insistence Sehwag was chosen for the present world cup. BCCI is quick to condemn Vengsarkar but not a word about whether it is true or not. In this forum, cricket lovers have repeatedly questioned the wisdom of selecting sehwag after his string of mediocre performances and irresponsible run out in his last match. Many have felt that Kaif was unceremoniously left out and sehwag's place should have gone to him, going by his previous odi record in WI. Some even speculated that there is one influential patron shielding sehwag. Now the patron is known to be none other than our Dravid. What do you think about all this? Give your frank comments. Thanks.

Yes shewag is most unvaluable player in the team.I donot know y dravid is prefering him and taking the wrong step so we have to think abut it! If he is failed again so he cannot regain his place.

Thanks. But does that have to happen at the cost of world cup?. Don't you think it's a high price to pay for confirming that a player is useless to start with in the first place?.

I back rahul n greg for picking sehwag for the world cup squad... I think vangsarkar is the foolish selector, because once selection is done and sehwag's name is finaled then there is no need to say that i(v'kar) had not choosen sehwag and all that.... Good Luck sehwag...."DHOODH SHOODH PIYO OR SAB KO UN KI NANI YAAD DILA DO"

Thanks. Kindly read my response to pritish. What I want to impress upon is that, world cup is not a stage where you hope your favourite player to attain form and do something good for the team in the process, but it is THE stage where an already in form player try to surpass his own high standards to bring glory to your country. What do you think?

ya veenu, i am agreed to you...i have read in times of ince..that selectors selected shehwag for south africa toor..just to get ganguly out of carrer after getting failed there..and they thought they will be out of those political pressure after that...but ,ofcourse a luky charm really cashed the moment and performed well..its really slap for those selectors and coach too..anyways indian team will be benefited from shehwag in worldcup,i think so....dravid as a captain have done right thing for believing in shehwag..its a time for him to get a faith from others..

I was not really surprised about this fact. But I also wasn't expecting someone like Vengsarkar to say it openly. But I don't think this is going to harm Dravid's reputation. Sometimes a player who is down on form needs the support of the captain of the team and I surely hope Dravid's instinct of backing sehwag is going to pay off.
