Help! Dead mouse in the house!

Dead Mouse! - a mouse found it's way into my vents!

I live in a heavily wooded area in an older mobile home. Apparently, either a field mouse or a wood rat has died somewhere in the ventilation system! I've finally detected that the smell is coming from the floor vents. Obviously, I won't be able to get into the vents to get it out, so Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get rid of the smell? YUCK!

Oh YUCK!! I am not sure who to call since I can tell you when we moved into our new home and had an awful bat problem and smell and no one would come and do anything about the smell. I used a lot of frebreeze and Oust spray. I don't like the smell of Oust but it does say it kills more then just the odor. It worked for me because the smell is gone now. Good luck on this one!!

thanks! i can at least walk in the house now without almost gagging, but when the air comes through the vents i still get a whif...i wish i could afford someone to come out and clean out the vents and ducts....hopefully there will be no more little critters that want to use my home as a graveyard!...lol

It's been 3 days and perhaps the smell has gone and some more days, the smell would be totally out. Just air freshener might do to mix with the bad smell for a time. Anyway, that smell would be gone in just few days, depending upon the size of the mouse.
