What is the best and worst thing about being a mother?

March 5, 2007 11:13am CST
Well I have to say my best bit is when my four year old comes out with a great phrase which i never even knew he knew, oh and also another best bit, is hearing I love you. The worst bit is worrying everytime he goes to school that he won't wipe his nose and that he will get bullied by other children if he has a snotty nose, paranoid I may be, but it can happen. So whats your best and worst?

One of this days I'm going to copy a tantrum and do it myself and see if it gets me anywhere :-)

The best part for me is knowing she loves me unconditional- nobody but her. The worst part is the obsessive worrying I do over her checking in, and being out alone. She's sixteen and no longer appreciates that sort of thing, so I pray a lot more.

I'm sure I'll be praying a lot more too when my kid gets into his teens.

I think the best part for me about being a mom is watchign them grow up, learn and become independant etc....but thats also the worst for me....Its so hard to not be needed SO much anymore ya know and to knwo that it wont be long before they are off at college or gettng married and starting families of their own etc....I know they'll always "need" me in one capacity or another (my kids and i are very close) but they arent my little babies anymore ya know...thats hard for me at times...

I'll get to that stage I think, knowing my boy will eventaully become independant of me, but if he's anything like me, I'll always need my mum.

The best thing about being a mom is hearing your child say I love you or having them telling you that you are the best. My worst part of being a parent is when they are sick too. My oldest is sick today and it worries me even though I know she will be okay. Hearing a child laugh is also one of the greatest joys in life.

Its funny isin't it even though you know they will get will, its still awful to see them feeling under the weather.

I am a mom of 3 boys. For me, the best part is hearing the laughter, seeing their creativity flourish, and hearing the I love you's for no reason. The worst part is when they are sick and there is nothing you can do to make it go away. Also part of the worst part is the lack of sleep and lack of showers you miss out on,lol. But it does get better and when your feeling down, just think of them while they are sleeping angels.

Lack of sleep is a big one, my boy seems to be getting up earlier and earlier, wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't a night owl.

The best is when my daughter told me she loves me; but the worst is she was being a chatter box in the school...

For me the best part of being a mother is seeing there smiles and hearing there giggles. The worst is when they are sick or in pain, I hate to hear them cry for any reason. It breaks my heart.

The laughter is great and boy when they are unwell is when its really gut wrenching to have kids.
