YAY! I'm a very proud army wife...have been for eight months! Glad to see there are some others of you out here too! In eight months...my husband has been deployed twice...this second deployment was unplanned...but we are dealing with it nicely. I do kind of worry about his homecoming...any suggestions or advice you guys have? When he returns we will live together for the first time ever...I think we will be able to adjust easily...but it is kind of strange...we will have been married for a year when he returns.

Yes .My husband is in the Army National Guards. He was stationed down in Hurricane katrina for about a month awhile back.He is now told he is leaving for New Mexico to be stationed there for 3 months. And even though its three months it still makes me sad.He does get to come home for about 3 days for my sons birthday. We have 2 kids.

Oh, we're kind of in a similar situation! I've just been an army wife for 2 months, but he was deployed 3 weeks after we got married and won't be back till about 13.5 months from now. Anyway, we'll be married for a little under a year and a half when he gets back, and it'll be our first time living together too. :) I've also wondered about what the homecoming will be like. We're used to being separated for several months at a time, but never for this long, so I hope it won't be awkward when we see each other again!

I'm a Army wife, who's also a veteran. I think my experience in the Military has made me more understanding of what exactly my husband and others go through with the Military. I hear about the guys in the husband's unit having problems at home because they aren't there all the time because of them going to the field for weeks at a time or having CQ or staff duty. I wish I could make their wives understand that it's not like their husband's volunteer to deploy or go to the field or do CQ or staff duty. It's just part of the job.

i am an army wife as well and we have three children. two are mine from a previous marriage but he considers them his own and we have a two year old little girl together. he's been deployed since last june, so it's finally almost over. he has missed out on so much of our daughter learning to walk and talk and do all kinds of new things, but he's defending our country. deployments are always hard and difficult, especially when children are involved. this is his second deployment in four years and we've been married four years. army wives are built army strong though and it takes a special woman to be able to endure the life of the army. i commend you and your husband and if you ever need to chat i'm here. God bless

Well, I'm prior Navy, married a guy off my ship. We have been married going on 11 or 12 yrs, can't remember. He did 8 yrs in the Navy. Now I'm a Army National Guard wife. He's done a lot of deployments with the Navy, luckily none with the guard. Still learning things about the Army, I'm like a duck out of the water when it comes to some things. We have two kids, with my first my husband went on a deployment less than a month after she was born. With our last he was deployed with the guard before she turned one, so he missed her 1st birthday. Luckily something happened and his unit came back. Huge blessing from the lord above.

Hi! I am a new army wife! I just married my soldier about 2 months ago. :) He's in Iraq right now, and it's our first deployment since we've been together, so it's been a little rough. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope our deployments will go quickly! lol
