Help a Emo Friend

ive a female friend who is emotionally attached to her male internet friend. for a long time i though it to be a mutual attachment but recently found out the male only sees it as a regular ole interaction of friends. recently i made a clearly sarcastic comment about this male to the female in a very contextually understood conversaion... and she got very very defensive. Recently i was introduced to the male and explained the situation... he had no idea the depth of her attachment (oops)and now feels guilt for "breaking years long friendship appart"... how do i converse about this male with her without getting her agravated (aside from sarcastic remarks) and how do i help him not feel so guilty over something he had no control or knowlege of?
