What is the difference between infatuation and love??

I m always confused about these two words...infatuation and love...i thing both words outplay each other. I mean when u r in serious love...i means you are in love!! And, its not infatuation, but, what about the infatutation...its attraction or just a fit of excitement for a little while. What do you think Mylot friends???

To my understanding, infatuation is something shortlived. You may like a person so much only for a short period of time. After that, it'll just die down and you wonder why you had that feeling in the first place. But when you are in love, it stays with you forever. You will never be able to forget that person even 10, 20, 30 years down the road. It's infinity!! It stays in your heart. To me that's love.
