does final fantasy 12 live upto the hype

So i'm looking at buying the new final fantasy 12 game on the ps2 and i am just wondering if anyone else have purchased it yet and if you have what do you think of it? does it live up to the hype about it? does it live upto the final fantasy name? and is it better than final fantasy 7?
please post your thoughts?

Final Fantasy 12 would definitely be worth your purchase. It has some serious game play time on it and almost seems like it could go for ever due to all of the extras and side quests. It does live up to the final fantasy name, it's just different like they all are. I really like the battle system in this one and hunting for marks is a great perk. I would suggest having a game guide to go with the game. The first time I beat the game, I didn't have a guide and I missed some key things. But now having the guide, it's going alot smoother and of course I'm catching everything. It's a great game and alot of fun but I don't personally think it is better than Final Fantasy 7. But then again, it's a unique game in its own right and that makes it a little difficult to compare.

I like it, but it's not the best. I was actually kind of disappointed, cause it takes so damn long for the story line to actually come into play.

Some of our friends have purchased the new final fantasy 12 and they have told me it is great to play and has some stunning graphics and great gameplay so i think i might go out and buy a ps2 just to have it and get some of the other final fantasy games as well as thats mostly all i like on the ps2.

Pish. Even though the story takes forever once you get into it its incredibly intense. I think they tried to get closer to an MMO type of feel which is great because its battle system is the most fluid ATB ive ever seen in an RPG. and you can get lost for hours exploring new areas that you rarely see in the story line, plus the insane amount of side quests. I think the best part of this game so far is the Replay value thats always what i look for in a game.

I was kinda dissappointed in the game myself. The storyline to me did not live up to the Final Fantasy name. Seven was way better but there isn't many of the series that could compete with seven in my opinion except 8 and 10. But, yeah if you are a FF fan Final Fantasy 12 is worth adding to your collection.

final fantasy 12 is a great game me and my partner are never off it, well until 2days ago when the tv packed up. were gutted now cause we cant afford a new tv for abit so will have to wait to complete the game. you should deffinately buy it you wont be disappointed
