I'm really wondering what makes havaianas slipper expensive? Why buy such slipper if you can buy the same kind with no brand name? Is the brand important?

I think it's a style statement for some that attracts them towards the branded ones.If you look around ,we could get everything at a cheaper price if we just cater to our necessities and not tastes. So,basically it's to appear hip and in style that people prefer expensive stylish products even when they could settle for a cheaper one.I think I am no different ,lol.

I think it's really the "BRAND" that sells it. Say havaianas and you know you'll be getting quality, soft slippers with a cool design which does not absorb odor and looks good with the latest beachwear. Personally, I would be happy with a local brand like Banana Peel which costs only about one tenth of Havaianas, but I could understand about the branding. It really depends on what item it is and if the buyer thinks that the "image" associated with the "brand" justifies shelling out a larger sum of money.

what make that brand of slipper expensive? I guess the name itself and the quality. Although I am ok with ordinary slippers, If I have the means, like I have lots of money,,I'll also go for that, there is nothing wrong in buying branded products as long as you can afford it. I would not allow myself buy such expensive things and end up with debts as high as me..:)

im ot into buying expensive slippers. Why not buy a cheaper one and personalize it. You can use your creativity and design your own slippers. My friend does it and its really nice. I's unique. My friends get praises from their work. So just buy cheaper one and design it the way you want. It will improve your creativity and will boost your self-esteem through appraisals from other persons. Am i right?

Nice suggestion marazh! I think it's really nice to use our creativity nowadays. It's really impractical to buy expensive slippers because what we are buying are only the brand names.

there are people who are brand conscious. the fact of having those brands makes them to be part of the community who are "in". its just rubber. about the comfort? cmon, there are cheaper brands that also provides comfort. some people are just blinded by the brand. lets just let them act that way.

I do not own one right now but based from information I have gathered. Havaianas are really quality made slippers and the secret for their soft rubber is what they are famous of. Imagine they have name it butter-soft because of its softness. Besides they really have cool designs to choose from. I should get a commission for promoting Havaianas! lol

for a regular person like i am, who can't afford to have branded stuff all the time, the brand is important if it speaks of quality and durability that is worth every single cent you paid for it. if it is, then the cost is justified. i'm not really into brand names, when you can get something for the same or better quality for a cheaper price. these days, we need to be practical. :)

that question has been asnwered lately. i bought my havaianas pair 4 years back. the price was the same as now, and since i would like to try and see what brazilian slippers are like, i bought it. i've tried to buy another but since my dad wont allow me for practical reasons, i was force to buy cheaper slippers. what i found out was that, havaianas, tho it is expensive is really sturdy. among all my slippers, it is the most used-- i wear it almost every day. and it doesn't wear. in fact, it is still being used till now. other slippers have already been dumped in the bin but my havi's is still going a long way. i have trekked the mountains with it, have strolled the mall, walked on it in the beach, trudged on it during enrollment and in school, but still it is still there. so now, that i have tried and tested it myself, im planning to buy my second pair. and again see for myself the durability of the slippers.
