I don't know how many of you are aware of Overburning in Nero.I can burn 720Mbs, fine.Would these Cds be able to hold more than 720MBs? We can raise the overburning limit but would these discs be able to hold that?? For newbies, learn how to write 720MBs on CDs here http://cyberpeace.blogspot.com/2007/03/burning-720-mbs-on-cd-overburning_06.html

I have microsoft office on one disc .Its size on PC shows 1.16gb .But that complete office io in only one cd .So i think overburning can be extended upto 1gb .So in your case it is possible to .I think there is still space for some more burning that cd .

Wow... which version of office did it have. I have burned Office 2003 on CD with much space left on it. The version of Office you are having must be 2006 or 2007. Which one?

i think you can cheat roxio into giving you an extra 5 or so megs, but not more. nero...i have burned stuff up to 712 or 715M but i've never had success with more than that. perhaps if you have small files that it can allocate to small 'chunks' of the disk, such as txt files or small jpgs. i don't think standard cds are meant to hold more than 800M though. the issue with the burnt copy of office is probably because some of the files (such as cab files) open up and expand once they get installed into the hard drive. so most likely, the full content on the cd could not have been 1G unless maybe it was burnt with a funny kind of cd, or maybe even DVD.

i'm not sure how to extract cab files...i tried several times without success. you need a program that is specially designed to open cab files, something like winzip or winrar, but specialized in cab files ;)

i wanted to extract .cab files because after extracting them and placing the data in them in correct directory structure, we can manually install any application without running its setup... that means bypassing the serial no.. request.

Hmm.. very intelligent to think like that. Can you extract data from .cab files? How it is done.? would you tell me?

Yeah i know you can burn more than 700 mb on a cd but that purely depends on cd. Usually a CD contains a little more than 700 Mb say 710 mB so that you can burn more on it. ITs not nero who is doing this. its just the extra space which you get with blank cd

Ya.. but exactly how much can I burn on these. I am completely sure that cds hold upto 720Mb but what about a bit more? I got two cds of Dhoom 2 which my friend burned using nero. One of them contained 768MB. My, I would also like to burn that. Thanx anyway

Overburning a cd is not recommended, however it can be accomplished using good brand Cd-writer like Plextor and a software capable of burning overburned Cd's.The overburned Cd may not be readable on some Cd drives also. For a data Cd the amount of data you can input is likely to be 703mb.But in case you write a video Cd it can be upto 798 Mb on a 700Mb capable disc due to specific data.
