The reason I see it that ‘The American Empire’ is so aggressive is because there does seem to be a problem with the American psyche in that quite often it seems Americans don’t understand that the rest of the World doesn’t want to be part of the USA.

I don't think American or not American is the issue here. Any empire that is big and powerful is naturally aggressive. When you are big, you want even more. In fact I still can't understand the generosity of the British empire at her mightiest - why be so sweet to give independence to your colonies? I rather munch them all up and make them my lands. But that's me who wants to rule the world. :P
