Silat is a traditional Malay martial art that is practiced by millions in the Malay Archipelago. The peoples of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei have been acknowledged to be the traditional holders of this art. In reality, however, the word Silat doesn't refer to just one style, but is an umbrella term to describe thousands of unique styles but share a common root in the Malay race. I wish to start a discussion on this if anyone is interested. If you want more information, you may visit my website, SilatMelayu.Com. There are many articles there for the unitiated.
