What is the public transportation system like in Wales?

Is it comfortable, safe and efficient? Is it good value, and is it possible to get discounts like family tickets?

It's good in major areas. In more rural areas I don't know. I've taken ferries to Holyhead and then used trains to get from Conwy and Caernarvon. We also used busses and were travelling in a big group with seniors, children and adults. All the service people and drivers were really helpful. They have price bands on busses and the drivers at one point had us wait to pay until it reached the next band and saved us quite a bit of money.

I have used the trains in north Wales along the coast. Very good service. The local bus servce between the smaller towns is quite good and inexpensive. Sometimes you may have to wait a bit for the next bus. But serivce is good and safe. Trains and busses all have different classes of ticket. Just enquire where you purchase your ticket.
