Can people stop using the word handicapped!?

I recieved some booklets asking to donate money to the 'handicapped'. It is rude, and offensive in our time for most people. The correct word should be 'disabled'. People with disabilities have voiced handicapped to be offensive. So I think we should respect that.

Thank you on behave of disabled people. I have an illness that at some point can cause a disability right now I am just weaker then most people and do not have a pernament disability yet. People will still call me handicapped and I get insulted by it. A lot of people use the word disabled but some will still say hanicapped which is wrong. Certain Society's are now trying to use the term "phsyically challenged" to replace handicapped or disabled. I do thank you for thinking of this and starting a discussion about it.

yes friend , your view is correct . for blind , we use "visually challenged" . for others we simply say disabled persons .
