Forgetting about Mom's Birthday(My 50th posting)

Today my Brother's wife called me and she was very upset because it was her mother's birthday. But she didn't remember that. she came to know about this from her sister who is staying too far away from her. She had wished her mother early in the morning but my brother's wife forgot her mother's birthday. She was ver upset about this while talking to me and she said to me to buy one saree and give to her mom. I did it according to her wish. The quesstion raised in my mind is why she is upset for the silly think. Do you think forgetting about parents bithday is a serious thing
