Restaurant Eating

When you go out to eat, do you limit yourself to the cheaper items on the menu or do you order what you want? I was raised to only order cheap things and I was just thinking that it kind of defeats the purpose of going out, if you aren´t going to get what you truly want. Isn´t it worth waiting and saving until you don´t have to worry about choosing that more expensive BLT over the grilled cheese?

yep, conditioned to go for the cheaper if not the cheapest menu items. However, we rarely eat out - and due to periods of unemployment my husband and I had not gone out for a meal in 4 years - then last anniversary we finally were able to excuse ourselves for it. We went to a nice restaurant and as our 16 year old babysat the others for us we did not have the concern of paying big bucks for a sitter. We ordered what appealed the most to us with only a tinge of guilty feelings. We enjoyed it so very much. After dinner we went to a shop and bought each of the children a small gift, so they had a little celebration of their own.

I never go out to eat unless I have more than enough for any and evrything I may desire plus a lengthy tip. Other than that I stay home and create a gourmet meal ( which is a lot cheaper and lasts longer ). Never short change yourself on an outing Fav restauranst are Olive garden, Melting Pot, Marathon grill, Red lobster, and my all time favorite FRIDAYS

We do not eat out much, but when we do we usually go to a buffet. I think you get more for your money.

We normally go out on weekends...we have some pet places to go to n we order as per our mood...but i think its best to wait n have some money in pocket so one can order what they want rather than eating cheaper things on menu.It definitely defeats the whole purpose of going out...

I think this would depend on your budget, would it? But I will see my mood then. I might just splurge anyway. :P
