Is the Lion really the King of the Jungle?

As far as i know this statement is a misnomer. The King of the Jungle should not be the lion, as its a very lazy being. 1] He depends on the females to hunt for food & when they hunt down a prey, he comes to grab it. not a kingly thing to do! 2] During mating season, he kills the cubs of other lions who herded the pack before, so that he can have his own offspring. 3] In the face of strong adverses, he betrays his pack & deserts them. anyone has any different opinion, please post & let us all know. Cheers! Sifar

LIons don't even live in jungles. They live on savannahs, so the 'king of the jungle' thing is inherently stupid.

Thanks for your best response dear, however in India, we have the GIR forest, where lions live in the Jungle. But i have to admit that this is the only place in the entire world. If you have anything more on Lions, their behavioural pattern, their mode of hunting, their lifestyle, please do let us know, as it would be worth mentioning on my website http://sifar.ueuo.com I will certainly put your name as a contributor or you can register yourself & post in your information.
