Would you rather have a job you like or a job that pays more?

What if you were looking for a job and wanted alot of money from it and you come across 2 jobs that will hire you. One of the jobs that will hire you pays alot of money but doesn't suit your interests. On the other hand, the other job that will hire you is much in your interests but doesn't pay as much as the first job and you probaly would have to find another one. Which job would you choose? The one that suits your interest, but pays little or the job that doesn't suit your interest at all but pays you alot that you wouldn't need to worry about money anymore.

I would like a job that I like and where the pay is good. I would never take a job that I loved if the money was horrible, but then again I would never turn down a job if the money was OK and I really loved the job. It's soooo easy to find work in Denmark right now that everyone have really high demands, so naturally the pay is good and it's easy to change job if you are not happy.

Me myself I have been in both kinds of jobs, one that paid good but I could not stand going there every day and I found out that the money wasn't the answer so I quit and found a job that I enjoy and find that I get much more from it and the money will come with time, for there is always something else you can do to make a couple extra dollars to make up for your sanity and health.

I'd rather have and do a job I like rather than one that I don't like but pays well.Actually this is my current situation right now. I have the option to change my career line and go into another field which has a well paying job, but its in no way related to my previous education or background. It is also not what I want to do, but may have to just to earn money. On the other hand, I can just choose to stick to what I'm doing now thought it isn't monetarily very good. I like what I am doing and don't want to change to something I don't like. Right now money is not the only priority hence I'm free to make the choice.

Take the job you love. You will have a better chance to increase your income down the road. If you dislike your job, no amount of money will make it better. But the best solution is to have neither. It is to have a great job that you love and that pays you extremely well. There is just no other way to do it.

i would rather get the job i like, than taking a better paying job, and regretting it every minute every day for 8 hours, 5 days a week thats twice the hard work..

if problem is not a problem for you, then i suggest you go for the job that suits your interest. That is, if money is not a problem. But if you think there's a chance for you to like the high paying job, why not try it, right? But as for me, i would choose the one that interests me most. I think, interests plays a major part for you to be successful in your career. =)

Of course this would depend on the definition of "a lot of money". What do you call a big difference in pay? If it's a matter of a few thousand dollars a year, I would definitely take the job that I am interested in. It's hard enough to work full-time, but it would be twice as hard if you were bored and disinterested in the job. I really believe that I have to enjoy what I do in order to do a good job. If it's a matter of a large amount of money, like $10 thousand per year, I might take the higher paying job and try to make it into something that I would enjoy doing. It would be worth a try for a great deal of money.

I would so much rather have a job that I like. It makes all the difference in the world. Even if you don't get paid all that much. I have been in both situations. I worked a job that I absolutely loved and wasn't paid much at all. I was still so happy, no stress. Now I am working at a job that I don't necesarily hate but don't like as much as my other job.

I think it is important to work with something you like. So I would rather have a job that i like than a job that pays more. It makes the days much more fun to work with something you actually like.

I have to go with the job that suits my interests. At the end of the day, I have to know that I'm going to enjoy working for someone. If that job doesn't suit my interests, I'm going to hate working there regardless of the money. And in the end, chances are that I'd get to the point where I'd resign anyway. There are places here in BC that I'd hate to work, but they pay really well. On the other hand there are jobs that I'd love to do but they don't pay so well. So long as a job pays me enough money to cover rent and the bills and necessities, and it suits my interests, it's good enough for me.

This is a difficult question because no one wants to work two different jobs. I prefer a job that I am interested in over money; but, realistically speaking I would probably take the job that pays more.

Agreed with you, that is a difficult question. And depending on my situation, if I need money, then, I will take up the job that pay me well, and if I do not need the money, then I will take up the job that I like and enjoy it. Then life will be more fullfilling. Well, that is not the case all the time.

Job I like, no question. I can do much better with something I like than slaving away for some extra cash.

The best choice would all depend on the current situation i'm in right now. If i'm in a survival situation, of course, i would definitely take the one that pays more. Now, if i could hold on to it, i'll take the one that suits my interest. Besides, if one love's his job, he will definitely excel, and soon be promoted. How can you be tired, if your job is more like your hobby! From there, after all the sacrifices, you can sit back and say "This is life!"

very interesting discussion that you have arisen among mylot users. i have seen many people who changes her profession on account of higher salary but he forgets that to change the track will hamper his future and he cannot be master. as far as i am concerned i have not changed my track whether i have received less package. i believe the proverb " slow and steady wins the race". thanks.

I always look for a job that i like with sufficient sallary. If you like your job than you will work more inthusiastically and will show the best reults which impresses your Boss and the Boss will take you to a higher position.Hence in a liking job you enjoy the work where as as a job with more salary is burdensum.Working for money doess'nt make sense so one must always enjoy there work then only they can do well.

I would prefer a job which suits my interests, because i shpuld be comfortable with the work i do, instead of working without interest. It is true that in this world, people give more importance to money, but what is the use of working for money, if you cant enjoy your work
