how do you forgive a parent that has been horrible to you your entire life...

and has passed on, or is about to? My mom has been a really bad parent. According to her, she hasn't been, however, from my end, it's been horrid. When the time comes for her to pass on, I don't know if i'll be able to forgive her. I don't even know if I'll be distraught, as many are at their parent's passing. I am hoping that I'll at least be upset, however, will it be for the right reasons? Yes, my mom will have passed, and I'm sure she will never apologize to me for the things she said and did. Will I be upset because she passed, or because she never did? Is there a way to forgive her now even though she feels she's done nothing wrong? Have you been in the situation where you parent has passed and you haven't been able to forgive? Or felt that you had to forgive because they passed? Were you ok with that, or not sure it was for the right reasons?
