May be some one can help. In the myLot discussions, a star appears in front of the user name with a number inside. The color of the star is also differing between users. What does it mean? Can any one explain? Thanks.

It means your post was chosen as the best response for the discussion! Good job Bravo!

Thanks for the response. What is the number inside the star refers to?

Sorry heart, but you are mistaken about the meaning of the stars. Please read below to clear up any confusion you have. You don't see if you have a selected best response unless you go back to your discussions and see a pencil symbol or by going to "my best responses" on the left at the bottom of the disscussion types list.

The star is a representation of how other users rate your discussions and responses to their discussions. You can rate either + or -...or use an ! to report abuse of a user. The star ratings go from one to ten, ten being the highest rating. You have a seven, that is very good, a nice place to start. The colors really don't mean anything, other than 7's go in white, 9's in red,...so on. I hope this helps you understand better. If I can help in any way, please let me know. Welcome to myLot and happy posting.

the star and number you've seen beside your name is your reputation rate on mylot.. the color and number in the star vary from your rate as a member. you may point your cursor on the star to see your rating.

Thats great. Thanks. How do I get this rating? From the users or from myLot administrators? What is the basis for this rating?

I think your problem is solved now. But my advice is that never get too much attached to your star. It doesn't show your quality that much. Why I am saying so is because I wanted to congratulate you for having the same colour with me but before I could respond, your star became a 7. Thank you, and sorry for I didn't help you :(

Thanks for the advice. I am not that much inclined towards the stars. But, just curious to know.
