when i was a child i loved to play board games. there was nothing better than gathering the family around the kitchen table for a rousing game of monopoly. playing games w/ my sisters and parents was great fun, but the best thing was it brought us all together as a family. in between rolls of the dice we talked and laughed about all kinds of things, and in doing so it helped us to bond. it seems in our current age of technology, the board game and family game night is quickly becoming a thing of the past. children today are more interested in video and computer games w/ their amazing graphics and fast paced action then they are in such mundane things as board games .. ----- or are they????

I have a whole closet full of both kids & adult games. I cannot wait until my girls are old enough to play the adult games. I do have a good time playing elefun or this little piggy with my girls though. My siblings, mom & I play games whenever we are together. I just spent 4 days playing card games with my sisters.

Rhuttie, Me and my mom and brother used to have a family game day every Saturday. My mom was a single mother and for years when I was young (8 to 12) we would always play board games all day on Saturdays. We would turn up the music, order pizza or snack on Doritos and Pepsi, and play Sorry, Boggle, Monopoly, Risk, or cards. We would just laugh and cut up and sing along to songs and have a great time! It really brought us close together, and I treasure those times. I plan to do the same with my daughter when she gets old enough to play board games. GACathyMac
