we must all be fools. yep, last september the news from the oil companies came on the air, and told everyone "gas could get as low as $1.18 a gallon again! what a bunch of liars!!! we just put up with this monopoly. how sad. Now they say "supply is short"" than make some!!! They actually stop producing oil, when the supply is too much.. how about letting us have a break? i never saw it go below 1.98 last fall, and suddenly, its over $2.50 again. I see a pattern to their prices raising. the heating season is almost over, (where they have raped us with their prices), and now traveling season is upon us,,, so they need to make money from that end.. what is going to stop this madness???

I 100% agree with you- I'm just as mad as you are- I cringe every time I see my gas gauge getting lower and lower- What can we do? Really I mean as Americans what can we do? I'd love to be able to have an impact on the gas prices being lowered. I just don't know what to do about it- I have to buy it- I have to drive.. I skipped buying it on the blackout days-- the e-mails that went around- noone buy gas this day, etc. I stopped buying from Texaco & Mobil. Any ideas what we can do? I'm so sick of it too! It's $2.65 right now in town-- And I hear it could raise to $3.00 by the end of Spring!

i wrote to the our senator this mornig, and all i got back was a list of ways to save on gas.. like we are stupid, and don't hear these things a million times a year. "check your air in your tires", "change your air filter" ,,,etc. whatever. They really don't have a clue as to how it affects the rest of our country. and they wonder why the economy is going bad... its a trickle down effect.

We actually got down to $2.03 a few weeks ago but now it's back up to in the $2.40's or higher depending on the gas station. It's crazy. We limit our trips as much as possible but it's almost impossible not to use the car. We don't have much of a public transportation system in my area and nothing is close enough for us to walk to so we have to drive. It's insane. They should be lowering the prices not raising them. It really got me when Exxon posted their record earnings. Gee wonder why. Instead of giving executives bonus after bonus they should be cutting the prices. Give us the break.
