Although the earliest records of musical expression are to be found in the Sama Veda of India and in 4000 years old cuneiform from Ur,most of our written in Western civilization.This includes musical periods such as medieval,renaissance,barouque,classical,romantic and 20th centuary era music. Popular styles of music varried widely from culture,and from period to period. Different cultures emphashised different instruments, or technicians,or uses for the music.Music has been used not only for entertainment,for ceremononies,and for practical and artistic communication,but also extensively for the propaganda. There is often disagreement over what constitutes'real music:late period Beethon string quartes,Stravinssky ballet scores,serialism,bebop-era Jazz,rap,punk rock and electronica have all been considered non-music by some critics when they were first introduced.
