Transracial Adoption

Just curious as to what people's thoughts are on transracial adoption. I can only speak for America, but here we see people of European descent adopting children of all colors, African- American, Chinese, Japanese, Native American, South American etc. With all average incomes aside, do you think white children should be adopted by the races above (other than European) or do you think this would be damaging for such a white child? Also, is there anyone out there who knows of a white child who was legally adopted by a non-European family?

I don't think race should matter when it comes to adoption. What should matter is who can give a child a good home, lots of love, and support. It shouldn't matter if they are white, black, or purple with green poka dots. So long as the adopting parents can provide for the child then that is all that truly matters. The rest is minor in comparision to that.

Why should there be any discrimination? i dont understand. In this age of technology we have people differentiating on the basis of skin colour. If a white child is adopted by a well educated African-American couple living in the States, why on earth should there be a problem for the child? He will grow in a good neighbourhood, he will get good quality education, he will have decent money in his hand... what's the trouble?
