It is every business of yours. Children are not put here to be used for a punching bag. Doesn't your heart hurt when you see something like that. I do something. I do not stand idly by while a child gets abused like that. Yes, that is abuse. Punching a child in the face. Common on you are talking about a adult doing this. There is no way to justify this. I can't even imagine a person doing that to a little one.

well, it will really depends onthe situation. If it seems abusing then it's your business to act responsible for this being the witness.

If that moron does that in front of your eyes it becomes public. It violates your privacy by disturbing you.So tie that "b" to a poll and keep punching his face happily.Good luck!

It is your responsibility to report it because the parent has no right to do this and the child cannot defend themselves. They don't really have a voice until they are older.

I think that it is definitely your business if you see someone abusing their children. If I were in your situation I would report it to Child Protective Services. I believe someone above mentioned that you can submit an anonymous report if you are worried about your neighbor finding out and becoming angry with you. I believe that it is your responsibility as a citizen to report it. Who knows if this was the first time the father has done this? If this is something that is frequent it could end up getting worse. I'm not sure what the statistics are, but I know that many children are seriously injured or killed each year because of abusive parents going one step too far.

richblogs, if the picture I see here is yours, then it doesnt really measure up with your question-in the picture, you wear a very responsible face! Frankly speaking, am aware the world is getting less and less egalitarian, but for you to see a neighbour punching a child and you go on with business as usual is very unacceptable to say the least. In the Western world, responsible people would call the police immediately-that is your business. Children can not be treated like thieves or criminals, if you cant call the police as a neighbour, at leaset it still remains your business to ask what crime the child has done to deserve such Tyson kind of punches on the face from an adult? Look at it this way, if you were punched by your father so hard in the face as a child, would it have been better if your neighbours just walked away without a second look at you? Com on richblogs?

It is none of your business to get involved with his family's activity unless you are told to do so. It is his family and not yours to get involve so keep yourself away from them. Your affair is different from them.

Is it your business, as a responsible citizen, you have the right to protect others. You might not directly intervene to the situation, as much said in some other posts, all you have to do is call for the authorities. its the best way of helping the child and keeping you out of harm. :)
