How much did it cost you to get your cat fixed?

I have called around and it will cost in the neighborhood of $45 where I live. Thank you for the comment, now I know to ask about pain meds before we leave her. Do you happen to know if the more expensive places did infact give pain meds? is the cost difference equal to the cost of the meds?

For my cats it was always included since I picked them up from shelters. I was never given any pain medication and once I even picked up my cat the afternoon she was fixed from the shelter. I wonder if for this type of procedure they don't need any. The vet they used and I still currently use is a very popular one so that's why I question if it's needed for fixing a cat. I know when they declawed her a few months later that they loaded me up with pain medication and antibiotics.
