Why is that names are different from all over the world?

Why is this? Its really weird, you got a child from China whose name is ghen-kyo for example and a child from America whose name is Bob. Why is Chinese name more complicated and American names are so simple and short? I am an asian an my name is in American because I lived here all my life. Luckily, I didn't have to have one of those long names! Can someone explain to me why this can be?

I think it's becausese of the alphabet,we use letter A to Z and the chines use symblos that are complicated to pronounce
