Why do we give best responses? Is there anything to gain from it? It doesn't change our star or money, so why do we do it? Just for fun? To make us feel good?

I believe it gives the person you mark best response increased earnings for the day and value to their rating. I know a couple of times I have not been able to post that day, but someone marked a best response and I had an increase desite no activity that day. It's also I would think a curtious thing to do since the option is available to us to use. It provides incentive to make our thoughts more coherrant and on track with the discussions author also. Well thats my take on it anyway.

Best Responses do actually give those that earn them a few more pennies for the award. And if we give out the best responses, it encourages others to give out best responses. This is also why they say to give good quality responses. Because if one's response is good quality, it is more likely that one would get the best response and in turn a few more pennies. :) And hey, I like and need my pennies. :D So, I always try to give high quality responses.

Yes there is a lot to gain from it margie, when someone awards me with a Best Response (BR) I feel so overwhelmed and I appreciate it. My response might not have been 'fabu-lous' but atleast someone saw it worthy of the title ;) It not only adds to your rating but to your earnings too my dear, my eanrings are always slightly higher on the days I get a BR than on the other days. It definitely is good and once we give out BRs, before we know it we are getting a flood of them ourselves:)

I really didn't see it added to our earnings at all. But yes, it does give us a nice feeling. Thanks for sharing my friend.

I think that when we choose best response that person benefits. They get a little more money for their response, and I think it adds to their reputation rating. I feel good when I get chosen for best response, not because of the money, but because it makes me feel as though my contribution was valuable in some way. It could be due to the information being useful or maybe it was just inspirational. But I feel honored each time my response is chosen as "best response".

I don't think it increases the money, but it does make us feel appreciated. Thanks honey.

That is a good question. Does it figure into the pay rates? If not, it just might be a waste of time. I guess we could say we do it for kicks...lol.

Not a clue how to figure out anything, nor do we get replies back when we ask MyLot.

I think that if you get best responses, that is what brings up your star rating, not just being rated positive. Also, it does make someone feel better, I think, especially if the discussion is a busy one, to know that yours was the best. Especially, if the person that chose you, for being the best, and not because you are their friend, as some do. I also think, that once you choose a best response, that is when the discussion is closed.

Now I am confused. I was under the impression or read it someplace that Best Responses added to your reputation and subsequently increased your earnings. I am going to ask myLot admin.

Marking someone as best response doesn't give any money to that member. It's just incourage members here to response a good responses, and with quality. I think it's fun when someone choose you as best response, since I have been chosen several times.

I think it must be just a warm fuzzies thing because I have never gotten an extra cent for a best response. The opportunity to get a best response does influence how I answer a post. And I suppose we can make others feel good about themselves as well.

It is important to give best responses.. because if you are found guilty of never giving them, people might just stop responding to your discussions! :P I am not sure if there is anything to be gained but it's nice to make others feel good too. ^^

Best response is not for fun. It can add to your rating and earning power. If you select best response their is also incentive. Why search for old discussions about best response of how this will increase your earning.

I like receiving "best responses", because it makes me feel as if I´ve contributed positively with my answer. I think we get 1 cent more if our reply has been rated "best response" (not 100% sure about this). Moneywise I don´t gain anything from giving B.r., but I like giving them because I´m sure that most people here appreciate it. Also because there are some brilliant answers which deserve a special mention.

I am using a laptop right now and I am getting fustrated. Anyways to get back on topic, I think the only thing we gain from it is to say we feel this one was the most helpful or relevant. It helps the other users star and earnings. Not just that it feels good to give a best response and get one too.
