I would agree with some of the others who said that it depends where in the world you are. In places such as India (where I originate from) I can only imagine it would be the girl who stands to lose more as virginity of women is much more important than of men when it comes to marriages. Hypocritical though it is... I won't go into that anymore though...
In general when a relationship breaks be it of a few weeks, months or even years, there is possibility of damage to both parties. It all depends on why the relationship broke down. A girl can dump a guy just as easily as vice versa. As a woman I can't go around saying it's only men who break women's hearts, I've seen many guys I know have their heart broken by a woman just as much as the other way around. It all depends on the invidiual circumstances of the breakup. :)

The girl lose more,when a girl gets hurts ,it becomes very hard for them to forget and to trust again,while boys surpass all the problems easily.

In a sense I agree with you. But each person is different. I have guy friends that do not trust woman anymore because of what they have done to him.
I would say who ever put more effort loses out.

in the first place the loser seems to be the one who had interest. if the guy took the girl for a ride then the girl is the loser or vice versa

i think it hurts both but i also think the women suffers more because most (not all) women seem to make it very hard to hide thier emotions.Most guys just go on with thier merry lives even if it hurts them they show no kind of pain.Now im not saying all men and all women are like this...just the majority.

hi total,
i feel that it is the girl and people around lose more than the boy.
the psychology of the boy helps him to get away with him more easily.
while the girl carries it more, and when she is hurt it is deep down to the core.
as woman is the centre of the creation, everybody around her also get hurt.
if a man makes a mistake one or other may suffer, but if a woman makes a mistake the whole family suffers!
you need not hear my words, just see what is happening around you!

they are both losers because when you go in a relationship, both of you invests..so when you two broke up, you cant withraw your investments which are time, money, love, tears..so both are losers

hi bettyrose. most of these relations these days seem to be truly marerialistic, so in the current scenerio i don't think anyone will be a loser and both of them will be happy when they seperate. in exceptional cases where they love each other unconditionaly then either of them will not be happy when they seperate.so in that way both the boy and the girl will not be happy.

when an intimate love-affair is broken, the girl loses more becos females put in more into a love relationship than men. besides, no body bothers if a boy is a virgin or not but a girl who loses her virginity is seen as a loser.
the effects of the break on the lady also can be both physical, psychological and emotional while the boy is only emotional

Everthing depends on the situation. No one can ever say without knowing what's the situation or the status of the relationship. BUt usually, the one who is at fault is the one who lose more. :)

Traditionally or conventionally, we'd tend to think it's the girl who loses out. However, I feel that if both parties have really, truly loved each other, then a break-up will inevitably result in a lose-lose situation emotionally.

For me, both the man and the woman loses something. When in a relationship, both has investments --- feelings, time, effort, money and other things. When the relationship falls off, both become losers.
But if we speak about a situation when the girl is pregnant and she has to brave the uncertainty of the future alone, I don't think that's losing. It might be hard at first but in the long run, she has gained a child. If she can support the child all by herself and she does not get married anymore, she'd have a companion and she'll be sure of someone taking care of her in her old age.

I think it depends where in the world you live. Here in the USA both, the boy and the girl, suffer and loose equally. If you live in places where the moral views on relationships are more strict, than the girl usually looses more.
