John has been and always will be my favorite Beatle. But I honestly believe that him and Paul shared being the leader. If you look at who wrote the music, you will see what I mean.

and in fact, that's the way it has been. that seems to be the reason why there wasn't really a formally selected leader.

I think John and Paul shared the leadership/lead singer position. They both wrote most of the songs and each sang about an even share of them.

At First they don't have a leader... they are equal members of a band.. but after a long run, competition on who is the best writer and singer erupted between John and Paul... Thus started their Rivalry...

John Lennon was the undisputed leader of the Beatles., he played the rythm guitar.John Lennon helped to transform popular music.Lennon was considered the leader of the Beatles, as he founded the original group.

I would say John, as he had the strongest personality of all The Beatles, but when it came to voice, no one was better than George,if only he was allowed to write more songs just listen to "Something" if you can, and see what a wonderful composition it is,my favourite Beatle song of all.

When they started way back in the late 1950's it was Paul and John in partnership. They wrote the songs and the music, got George to join them and Stu Sutcliffe on the drums.

I definatley think it was Paul McCartney, whenever they were interviewed,he is the one that did most of the talking and he also was lead singer in most songs

It would never be john lennon..........he was too sabbatical and sarcastic to be a leader...no, I think it'd rather be Paul Mc Cartney!!

That's a hard question. It's difficult for me to choose the leader between Lennon and McCartney, as it seems each of them tried to be the leader of the groop. I remember I read that they used to fight (really _beat_ :) each other) when they were youngies, just in the beginning. Do you think they fought for their leadership?

technically, its John who leads the fav4. aside from starting the group with Paul, he's the one with the most ideas with the songs, though most of the time, its Paul who leads the singing. but nonetheless, they're the Beatles! and we simply love 'em! who cares who's leading who? c",)
