I have a 6 year old daughter and I am wanting to start giving her an allowance. What amount would be a good amount and for what things should she be responsible for in order to receive and allowance? Do you think that this will help instill a good work ethic in her or is it making her grow up faster than she should?

Your never too young to start learning about money management. I think a good amount would be $5 or less. She can help with chores around the house, keep her room together, do good in school, stuff like that. I think 6 is a good age to start teaching her. My grandson is 2 yrs. old, he already knows what money is.

Thanks for your response. I agree that she needs to learn about money management.
