Without a doubt, Jeanette Winterson. Her writing is above and beyond. So unique and inspiring. Her books are a magical experience to read.

My favourite novelist is Amrita Pritam. Amrita Pritam is a classified hindi writer and novelist. She has been conferred the highest literary Award Gyanpith Puraskar in 1983 for her Kagaz-Tekanvas (Punjabi). She was born in 1919 in an educated family. Her parents were teachers. She belonged to a literary background. She lost her mother at the age of eleven. So she was brought up under the care of her father, who was also a writer. She started writing poetry at the age of sixteen. In this way her writing career started. On 15th May 1973, Delhi University conferred her with Honorary Degree of D. Lit. She has written her own biography in Rasidi Ticket. Her famous Novels are Dr. Dev, Ek Thi Tara, Rang Ka Patta etc. She has written more than 30 books and her books were translated in as many as 30 languages. She has travelled world wide and freedom is her culture. According to her, marriage is a futile and out-dated institution. She was nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha in 1986 in Indian Parliament. She had added beauty to literature and is continuing doing it.

Bernard Cornwell is by far my favourite novelist. He has the ability to take historic records, combine them with legend, throw in a bit of humour and fiction and create the most enthralling stories I have ever had the privilege to read. I think he's a wonderful writer. I haven't read the Sharpe novels but I've read three of his trilogies, starting with the Arthurian Legend, and my next book will be Stone Henge, where he gives his insight into how the Stones were erected and why. Brightest Blessings.
