I just thought of a good idea for kids or even adults. You can make some playdough (home made) and the shape it into eggs, then let it dry completly. I put mine in the oven to cook. Then when they get out I buff them down a littl to make them smooth, then I paint them how ever I want, then spray a poly spray on it to prevent chipping. My son and I will be doing this this year for easter, and as for easter presents.

I think that is a really great idea!!!
In our religion, we celebrate Ostara...but we also have the egg decorating thing. :) Since my children will be on Spring Break during our celebration, I think this is a great idea for a craft for the kids!
Thanks!!!

That is such a good idea. I hope it goes completely well for you and your boy. They should turn out really nice and I hope that you will be sharing pictures once the holiday is over. I hope alot of us get to do this and make some memories in the process. Thanks for sharing this idea with all of Mylot.

Easter presents, what an idea. We had baskets when I was a child, but didn't give any other presents. My mom used to make a flour & salt clay for us kids when I was a kid - is that the stuff you are talking about? Now the recepies all seem to call for corn starch & that's not happening here!
