MAME cabinets

Have you built one ? Did you alter an original arcade cabinet or build from scratch ? Could you share any construction techniques and hook up details ? I built a cab last year from spare wood in our garage, i'm very pleased with the results but wow was it some work of discovery. Hence the question here :)
