Planning your career is one of the most important decision of ones life. I think one should consider his or her own hobbies or intrests while panning ones career. What do you think?

I have identified three different benchmarks for planning a career. The easiest and the safest is to follow the parents/family tradition. If parents are Doctors/Engineers, it will be much easier for the children to become a Doctor/Engineer. So the career plan must focus in this issue. The second approach is based on job market. You should always make a career plan well ahead in your life based on the job markets, though it is difficult for a student to decide which stream/program is the most rewarding but in consutation with the teachers and the parents, taking such decision does not seem to be extremely difficult. The third benchmark is the identification of genuine talent. Anyway, in the above two benchmarks also, while planning for any career, the genuine strenght/weakness should be given the topmost priority. But planning a career based on hobbies/interests might be a dream-comes-true like thing, but, it needs exceptional talent on the part of the candidate which is quite rare in most of the cases. So this may not be the best option for most of the candidates.
