Hi, mykykko! I remember one line in the movie "intersection". The mistress there of Richard Gere said to his daughter as the daughter wont smile at her--"this is not a contest, no one can replace your mother." To be a step monther, I guess the first rule to remember is dont push to hard for the kids to like you or your frien right away. Whenever she's with her boyfriend and his kids, try to avoid being overly sweet but instead, take more time speaking with the children. Know their likes and dislikes and express her opinion without hurting them. Suggest some recreational activity and find them simple yet valuable gifts for the children. Just stay cool, loving, friendly and gentle enough. Remember, no one can replace their mom.
