Im having a hard time removing my waterproof mascara just by washing my face with soap and water. Have tried using a certain brand of make up remover but it irritates my eye. Any advice?

Waterproof mascara needs something with oil in it to remove it. I recommend Ultrabland from Lush. It is fantastic stuff. Just melt a bit between your fingertips and apply to your eye area. Then remove with cotton wool dipped in warm water.

I have had the same problem as you in the past. I only wear waterproof mascara as anything less ends up smudging within a few hours which isn't a good look for work! I went through heapes and heapes of different eye make-up removers untill i tried the Boots Botanics one. It's the only one i can use that gets it off without flaring up my eczema (yes, i get eczema even around my eyes can you believe!). I think maybe it varies from person to person, so you have to keep trying untill you find your perfect match! I found Ultra Bland just didn't shift my two layers of waterproof, but maybe it could work for you, i certainly found it gentle on the eyes.

I recommend that you don't wear the make up if you are irritating your eyes taking it off. If you are eyes are being hurt by it then there must be some horrible chemicals in it that you don't want anywhere near your eyes.
