Do you use a toll pass or pay with your change?

Since moving back to Illinois, I have yet to get an I-Pass. I don't use the tollway all that much. The thing that bothers me the most is when I put my toll in the basket, 3 out of 5 times it won't register, nor do I get the customary Thank You light, which I paid for, right???!!!! The first time it happened I thought maybe I didn't put enough in, so I put in more. Now I pay closer attention and make sure the amount is correct. It aggravates me because there are signs saying I wil be fined if I do not pay my toll. Who wants a ticket in the mail, especially if the toll was paid!!!! I did have an EZ-PASS in New York, as one has to go through Jersey, whether the turnpike, tunnel or a bridge, that require high cost tolls. Several people told me that the Toll authority send people tickets in the mail if they deem you made it from one toll to the other too quickly, meaning you were speeding. Also, they track where you go by your pass. I don't know if this is true or not, but I definitely don't care to have another form of the government watching my every move. I may get the Illinois I-PASS, but for now I guess I will just use my change. Which, by the way I have accessible and know that if I travel a toll road, there are tolls. How many times do you pull behind someone tearing their car apart looking for toll money. Come on people....be ready!!!
