What does everyone think of a former employer suing you and refusing to pay you the balance they owe you?

I personally think that if am employer owes money to you they should pay it, although alot of them try to get away without paying it because they know going through the labour board is a long process for the employee and they also know that lawyers are expensive. If they owed the telephone company money they would have to pay it and if they owe an employee money they should have to pay it...you shouldn't have to sue for it, they should just do the right thing and pay up.

Alot of employees give up because it is a tedious fight and can be expensive or time consuming.

I am going to goto court and take whatever legal action which can be taken against him . I'm not going to leave any amount unpaid and will get it back by hook or crook . Am I wrong if i try any other way to get my money back .

I think it is terrible. However you need to think carefully before fighting for it. Do you really want to put yourself through all that stress just for that money. It might be better if you just move on with your life.

I would like to know more of the story here. That being said I do think it is unfair and that the company should pay you what they owe you. That is unless they fired you for embezzling money or damaging property or something like that. I am not saying that this is what happened, but just stating the reasons why I would not pay a person who was owed money after they left.
