Do you ever observe your child as she/he sees new people. What about when you are at the grocery store and pass the meat counter. My daughter stared in wonder the first time she saw them butchering up some meat. I don't know if it scared her or amused her. When they see strangers when you are out shopping, do they get shy if the people try to talk to them or are they all out?
